2018 SAFF Cup
India participated in 12th edition 2018 SAFF Cup
held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. India finished as runner up after fighting down to
Maldives by 2-1 in final. But the matter of fact is that in this tournament
India given chance to their young players as the whole was below 24 year of
age.
A team missing all the big names has lack of experience as all players
are on field for first time in their international career.Young players performed well in tournament and wins 3 games including 2 in
group stage against Sri Lanka and Maldives and semifinal against Pakistan. It
was a good chance for young players to test their skill and to prepare for
future.
Some more challenge is coming for young colts ahead of 2018 AFC Under 16 Championship that going to held in Malaysia starting 20th September 2018.
